Player character:
You play as the young dragon Tanin. She was not always a dragon, in fact she was a human queen who ruled over a small kingdom over 300yrs ago but was cursed by her greed.
As Queen Tanin's subjects suffered under over taxing taxes the queen brooded in her castle. The queen could not see beyond her own thirst for power and wealth it made both her and her subjects miserable.
the queen is cursed to live as a dragon and her people were hidden away on an artifact that while immune to the queen's curse was subject to her greed and could not be opened. living for about 100yrs as a beast whose only thought was treasure and attaining it threw any means. Her reign of terror is abruptly short by a hibernation of 200yrs; upon waking the world has changed. Tanin and her kingdom is forgotten, Dragons are a myth, and all of her treasure is gone including what may be the only way for Tanin to return her subjects to existence.
Tanin's long sleep seems to have done her good; Humanity has taken hold in her soul, and a compassion that was not there before is budding. The queen has had a change of heart and now filled with regret she has dedicated herself to the freeing of her people, Ironicaly that meens she needs to get her treasure back...
The Player controls Tanin in her dragon form (possibility of customization) fighting with claws and breath weapon. As the game progresses the player "Unlocks" abilities that allow her to preform new draconian feats, magic, and eventually even allowing her to return to her human form for a brief time.
Story:
Ohe cutsceens of this game are highly stylized as a fairytale storybook other then the first cutsceen which is prerendured 3D.
one rain soaked evening (it seams the kingdom is always like this in the intro). An old traveler came to the queen's castle, dressed in a long gray cloak that allowed none to see its face or gender and without needing to request an audience she stood before Tanin.
"You live in greed," the traveler said leaning heavily upon a staff, "this greed will consume you, as a dragon you think only of wealth and your people suffer." with this the traveler removed a item from under its cloak. "Your thirst will never be sated, for treasure is not what you truly seek. Your people have the answer but you have failed them." As he said the last works there is a great flash and the story switches to a third person narrator the same one that will narrate the rest of the story.
As a dragon Tanin is more powerful than any mortal but that does not make her invulnerable on the contrary it makes her a target for knights wanting to prove themselves and warlords thinking they can tame her power. and that is what she was subject to in the centuries of her life as a dragon before her great sleep. No-one new she was once a mortal queen, much less not always a dragon.
During this time she used her monstrous form to collect some of the greatest treasures and artifacts in the known world. No-one could stand before her in the last few decades of her reign of terror for some of the items she collected were magical or became magical threw contact with Tanin's treasure hoard. This "Hoard Magic" as it came to be known seamed to come from the Dragon's Curse that had nearly overcome her soul and soon would have erased what was left of her humanity but the unexpected happened.
The old traveler that had come to the queen the evening before the curse had consumed the queen and banished her people, confronted Tanin in her lair (her decaying castle). The traveler spoke to the beast; calling upon the humanity left in the queens soul and soothing the rage of the dragon. The seen fades.
200yrs pass and Tanin wakes in the vault of her castle it is know empty of the hoard the queen had spent a century collecting. The skis are bright but the ruins are surrounded by a mist. at first Tanin is confused as this is the first time she has thought clearly in three centuries. then she comes to terms with her draconic body (first comedy in the game, up to this point it has been dark & somber.)
The games tutorial takes place here, various vermin and monsters have taken up residence in the many years since Tanin began to sleep. After the player breaks out of the vault you chase/kill these intruders threw the halls and courtyards of Tanin's once great castle.
Then the realization of the missing treasure's importance dawns on Tanin, and your quest to find the Traveler's device begins.
Gameplay:
For the Hoard will boast a isometric world experienced threw a 3rd person view.
The player will run, jump, climb, and eventually fly as Tanin the dragon.

For the Hoard takes place in a land going threw the equivalent of our medieval age, technology has reached its peek at crossbows and chemistry at black powder goes boom!
This game is open world taking much of its visual inspiration from the Scottish highlands, medieval France and ancient Greece. From rolling hills to steep chalk cliffs.
Much of the culture Tanin encounters upon waking is reminiscent of France's late medieval era, and Scots from the same time.
Gameplay is not linear, it is open world. while some areas have challenges much harder than the main story leads you to early on, you can explore as much of the map and do anything in any order as long as you don't mind revisiting an area latter as the story may progress there.
A Hoard object could be found in nearly any location so exploration is encouraged.
